How to convert JPG to PDF

01

Choose JPEG images

Select supported JPG/JPEG/JFIF photos and check their page order.

02

Choose document settings

Keep eligible image encoding or explicitly re-encode. Set paper, orientation and margins.

03

Generate and download

Generate every page locally, then check the complete PDF and its actual size.

Keep JPEG image data or choose a new encoding

The default Keep image encoding mode removes photo metadata and embeds eligible JPEG compressed data directly into the PDF. Changing paper size, margins or physical placement does not require re-encoding the image. No quality slider appears in this mode because it would not change the preserved data.

Re-encode is an explicit choice for applying orientation, changing color representation or shrinking pixels. Clear uses a longest edge of 3,000 pixels and quality 92; Small file uses 2,000 pixels and quality 85. Advanced controls offer quality 1–100 and a longest edge of 200–4,096 pixels. Smaller images are never enlarged. These values are encoder settings, not percentages of original quality.

Photo orientation, profiles and compatibility

Ordinary 8-bit JPEGs with orientation 1 and supported coding can use the keep-encoding path, including validated progressive and grayscale images. Photos carrying rotated or mirrored EXIF orientation, ICC profiles or CMYK/YCCK require explicit Re-encode so the PDF does not display raw rotated pixels or unconverted colors.

Re-encode applies orientation explicitly. Validated matrix/TRC sRGB and Display P3 RGB profiles are normalized to sRGB; unknown or CMYK ICC profiles require an SDR sRGB export. Untagged CMYK/YCCK uses the browser’s color interpretation, which can vary. HDR/multi-picture JPEG, unsupported coding, damaged images and oversized sources remain outside the supported range. This is not a professional color-proofing tool. Keep the original photo if its exact profile or encoding matters.

Arrange one photo per page

For one receipt or photograph, select one image and generate a single-page document. For a document with several photos, check the visible page numbers and move pages up/down or sort by natural file name. For example, image9.jpg sorts before image10.jpg. Capture-time sorting uses valid DateTimeOriginal fields only; dates with incomplete timezones require confirmation.

The defaults are A4, automatic orientation per page and a 10 mm margin. Letter and fixed portrait/landscape are also available. The whole image is centered and fitted without cropping or stretching. Aspect-ratio differences leave white space. Check paper size and scaling in your PDF reader or print dialog; a zero margin cannot make a printer support borderless printing.

Complete documents within clear resource limits

Choose up to 20 images, 20 MB per file and 100 MB total. Sources are limited to 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Original-size embedded JPEGs must also fit the 4,096-pixel output-side limit; choose Re-encode to shrink a supported source if necessary. Reducing output size does not bypass source decoding limits.

Compressed page images must fit 32 MB and the finished PDF must fit 64 MB. These budgets do not guarantee device peak memory. Start with a few pages on a phone. Every selected page must succeed: failed and cancelled tasks never quietly omit pages. Settings or order changes invalidate the old download, so generate again before saving.

Private metadata and visible information

The writer embeds cleaned JPEG image streams and does not copy source photo EXIF, location, camera details, dates, filenames or thumbnails into the PDF. Capture dates used for sorting stay in the current browser session. Text and addresses visible in the pixels are still visible: stripping metadata is not redaction.

Files, processing, previews and downloads remain local. Workers and other program resources need to load first. After required resources are available, the open tab can work offline; refreshing clears the session and may need a connection. Optional analytics is off until consent and excludes filenames, image content, dates, page order and settings.

An image document, without OCR

Use this tool when a form or recipient asks for a PDF made from JPEG photos. The result contains image pages. It does not add an OCR text layer, edit a PDF or merge existing PDFs. If you need selectable text, use an OCR tool and check its recognition results, or export the original text document directly.

The layout preview uses the same fitting calculation as the PDF, but it is not a PDF reader. Thumbnails appear during generation. Open the actual download to check legibility, orientation, completeness and size before submitting it.

Choose the source you actually have

For original iPhone photos, use HEIC to PDF directly. For transparent PNG artwork, PNG to JPG replaces transparency with a solid color. For JPEG metadata cleanup without a document, use JFIF to JPG. Read how local processing works.

JPG to PDF questions

Are my JPGs uploaded to create a PDF?

No. Images are inspected, processed and embedded in a PDF on your device. Program resources load from this site; there is no image upload or cloud conversion fallback. Optional analytics runs only after consent and excludes file details.

Can I combine several JPEGs into one PDF?

Yes. Select up to 20 supported JPEG/JPG/JFIF images. Each becomes one page in a single PDF. Inputs must also fit 20 MB per file, 100 MB total and 16 MP per image. The embedded-image budget is 32 MB and the finished PDF limit is 64 MB.

Does JPG to PDF reduce image quality?

Keep image encoding embeds eligible JPEG compressed image data without another lossy encoding. Removing metadata changes file bytes, so the result is not a byte-for-byte copy of the original file. Re-encode creates new JPEG data at your chosen size and quality and can change detail or colors. Keep your originals.

Why do some photos need Re-encode?

Photos with EXIF orientation other than 1, embedded color profiles, CMYK/YCCK color, or dimensions above the output limit need normalization. Keep image encoding stops and explains the reason. Choose Re-encode explicitly to apply supported orientation and browser color conversion; unsupported or damaged images remain errors.

How do I change page order or paper size?

Use the up/down buttons or explicit selection, natural file-name or capture-time sorting. Choose A4 or Letter, Auto/Portrait/Landscape and 0–30 mm margins. Each image is fitted and centered without cropping or stretching. The initial order comes from your browser file list, not necessarily the order you clicked.

Are location data and photo dates kept in the PDF?

No source EXIF, GPS, camera details, embedded thumbnails, capture dates or filenames are embedded. Valid capture dates may be read locally for optional sorting. Missing dates never use file modification time; incomplete timezones require confirmation. Visible names or addresses in the image remain visible.

Can I make an exact file size or searchable document?

No preset guarantees a target size. After generation, inspect the actual PDF size; use Re-encode to reduce pixels or quality if necessary. These are image-only pages without OCR, editable text, password protection or PDF merging. A reader may offer its own OCR separately.

What happens if one JPEG fails or I cancel?

No partial PDF is offered. Recheck or remove failed pages and generate the whole document again. Cancel terminates processing while keeping the input list and settings. Any change to pages, order or settings invalidates the old download.

Can I use PNG or HEIC photos here?

This page accepts supported JPEG images, including .jpg, .jpeg and .jfif. For original HEIC photos choose HEIC to PDF. PNG to JPG can create JPEG images from supported still PNGs, but transparency becomes a solid color and conversion is lossy. Different input formats need separate batches.
